Cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto has been announced as the main sponsor of the 2025 PZU Gran Fondo Series, the largest amateur cycling series in Poland.
The Poland-based exchange is a regulated crypto trading platform with operating licences in Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia, Cyprus, Estonia, Switzerland and Canada. It offers trading in over 70 cryptocurrencies paired with traditional currencies, stablecoins and BTC/ETH, and has more than 1.35 million active users.
Zondacrypto has previously been involved in major cycling events including Strade Bianche, Milano-Sanremo and the Giro d’Italia, as the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange. The company also sponsors the Canyon//SRAM Zondacrypto women’s professional cycling team, which includes Tour de France Femmes winner Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Tiffany Cromwell.
Przemysław Kral, CEO of Zondacrypto, stated that the firm’s passion for cycling is central to its brand identity. “We’ve proudly sponsored the Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto team since the beginning of 2025,” said Kral.
“We want to use this experience to help elevate the PZU Gran Fondo Series. Equally important, our involvement will help even more people fall in love with cycling.”
The partnership aims to raise awareness of cryptocurrency while promoting wider adoption. Zondacrypto’s ambassador network includes athletes such as Arthur Leclerc and Valtteri Bottas. In 2023, the company also enabled one of the first professional football transfers paid entirely in cryptocurrency, when Raków Częstochowa signed Senegalese player Ibrahim Seck.
Marek Rutkiewicz, director of the PZU Gran Fondo Series, said the partnership would help enhance the experience for riders. “Thousands of amateur cyclists will now race wearing Zondacrypto-branded jerseys, like the one worn by Kasia Niewiadoma,” said Rutkiewicz.
The PZU Gran Fondo Series begins in Ełk in northeastern Poland on May 25, 2025, with riders choosing from four route options:
- Gran Fondo (80–120km)
- Medio Fondo (50–80km)
- Family Fondo (20–40km)
- Kids Fondo (shorter route for younger participants)
All routes will be closed to traffic during the races. Participants will receive location-specific cycling jerseys as part of their starter packs.
