Italian cycling shoe specialist, fizik, has launched its new road cycling shoe, the Vega Carbon, designed for top-tier performance and comfort. The Vega Carbon features a revised ergonomic shape, integrated carbon outsole, and performance-oriented materials.
Unveiled on May 21 in Pozzoleone, Italy, the Vega Carbon is aimed at competitive riders looking for a stiff, lightweight and natural-feeling race shoe.
The Vega Carbon introduces a new foot geometry with a straighter axis, lower heel-to-toe drop and wider toe box. The goal is to allow the foot to stretch fully within the shoe, enhancing stability and reducing fatigue on long or high-intensity rides.
A key innovation is the fully integrated carbon sole, positioned directly beneath the upper fabric. This design reduces stack height at the cleat interface, placing the foot closer to the pedal for improved power transfer and a more connected ride feel.
The upper combines fizik’s Aeroweave PRO woven fabric with a translucent mesh to balance breathability, durability and low weight. A perforated Airprene bootie delivers a secure fit.
Riders can fine-tune the fit using a dual-dial Li2 BOA Fit System, allowing for separate adjustment zones at the instep and midfoot.
“We wanted to deliver the highest level of performance without compromising rider comfort,” said Alex Locatelli, Senior Product Manager at fizik.
“This is why we redesigned the shape and ergonomics of the shoe to offer cyclists a more natural riding feeling while retaining the stiffness provided by the carbon sole.”
