It’s certainly been a busy few days for Garmin, with a raft of new announcements, including: a new Index Sleep Monitor band, Edge MTB bike computer, as well as last week’s announcement of the Venu X1 smartwatch.
The latest announcement sees Garmin and Zwift confirm new compatibility updates and features for Tacx NEO 2T and 3M smart trainers. These updates give cyclists more ways to enjoy an immersive riding experience while using a premium indoor trainer on Swift.
Zwift Cog replaces the cassette on the Tacx NEO 2T or 3M and is compatible with almost any 8-12 speed bike. Meanwhile, Zwift Click mounts to any style of handlebar, allowing Zwifters to enjoy silent, instant virtual shifting while training, racing or riding on Zwift.
The Tacx NEO 2T is now compatible with the Zwift Ride Smart Frame, giving cyclists an always-ready trainer setup with built-in handlebar controls and customizable virtual shifting while training and riding on Zwift.
“Thanks to the fantastic collaboration between our two companies, we are delighted to deliver the Zwift Ready experience to Garmin users,” said Eric Min, Zwift Co-Founder and CEO.
“We strongly believe that virtual shifting, unlocked by Zwift Cog and Click, offers the very best Zwift riding experience, and I’m delighted that Garmin users can now fully enjoy the benefits of this technology.”
Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, added “We are excited to collaborate with Zwift to make indoor riding even more realistic. Whether training for that next big race or simply enjoying a group ride with friends, these new integrations can help users get the most out of their Zwift ride.”
Available now on garmin.com, customers in the United States can purchase a NEO 2T or 3M bundled with the Zwift Cog and Click. Existing NEO 2T and 3M customers, in the US, UK and EU can also purchase a standalone Zwift Cog & Click pack on zwift.com.
