L’Eroica, the vintage cycling event, is set to welcome an international field of riders for its 28th edition on October 4–5, 2025.

Although participants from Italy remain at the heart of the event, with 58% of registered riders being Italian, the registered rider numbers reflect a wider international dimension.

The event, held in Gaiole in Chianti, Siena, Italy, will see participants from 50 countries. After Italy, the most represented countries are Germany (17%), Switzerland (4.6%), and the United Kingdom (3%).

Riders will attend from every continent, with participation from countries such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Australia, and South Africa. The event organising team points to… ‘A human mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions will be united by the same passion for cycling.’

The event also brings together a wide span of generations. The youngest international rider is a 14-year-old from Augsburg, Germany, who will ride the 46km route.

Among the oldest riders are five cyclists born in 1945, now 80 years old, from Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The oldest women are 71 from Dortmund, Germany, taking on the 135km route, and 71 from France, registered for the 46km route, respectively.

According to the event organisers… ‘The spirit of L’Eroica knows no borders or age limits, uniting generations under the same banner of the beauty of fatigue and the thrill of conquest.’
