Outlaw Triathlon launches brand-new Outlaw Middle

Outlaw Triathlon finish

Outlaw Triathlon is expanding its series of events in the UK with the launch of the Outlaw Middle, a brand-new middle-distance race debuting at the full distance Outlaw weekend in Nottingham on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Set on the same course as the full distance Outlaw race, the Outlaw Middle will feature a 1.2-mile swim in the National Water Sports Centre lake, a 56-mile bike through the Nottinghamshire countryside, and a 13.1-mile run around the Regatta Lake, all finishing with the Outlaw orange carpet finish-line experience.

The new event option opens the door for more athletes to join the Outlaw community. The event organiser added… ‘With extended cut-off times and the same athlete-first approach that defines every Outlaw event, Outlaw Middle offers a friendly yet challenging step up for those looking to tackle a middle distance for the first time or target a new mid-season goal.’

Outlaw Middle cut off times:

  • 1.2 mile swim – 1hr 35mins
  • 56 mile bike – 5hrs
  • 13.1 mile run – 4hrs 25mins

“We’ve always said we’re triathletes organising events for other triathletes,” said Race Director Iain Hamilton. “The Outlaw Middle allows us to welcome even more people to the sport, providing the same atmosphere, value, and support that Outlaw is known for.”

A release from Outlaw added that… ‘Taking place alongside the Full, Aquabike, Sprint, Relay and Children’s events, the addition of the Outlaw Middle makes Nottingham a weekend celebration of triathlon, whether athletes are chasing personal bests, racing with teammates, or simply soaking up the atmosphere that Outlaw is famous for.’

Entries for the inaugural Outlaw Middle are now open, with limited spaces available for 2026.
