Challenge Canberra returns with world championship qualification opportunities

Challenge Canberra

The Challenge Canberra triathlon festival is returning to Australia’s capital this month, taking place on November 15–16, 2025. The event, part of the international Challenge Family series, will aim to offer a full festival of racing to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin.

The event is expected to host hundreds of age group athletes across a wide range of distances. The courses are centred around the lake, giving athletes and spectators views of national landmarks.

The Middle Distance, Olympic Triathlon, Middle Distance Aquabike, and Olympic Aquabike events will all act as athlete qualifying events for the 2026 Multisport World Championships. This gives athletes a chance to secure their spot on the international stage.

The main racing takes place on Sunday, November 16, with the Middle Distance, Sprint, Super Sprint, and Olympic Triathlon events.

Shorter events will be held on Saturday, November 15, with the Aquathlon and Aqua Kids Challenge, ensuring the weekend is accessible to new athletes and juniors.

Challenge Canberra focuses on participation and community, with the goal of offering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for all levels, from first-timers to experienced athletes.
