Strava has announced a series of updates to its platform, including enhanced navigation tools for wearable devices and new management features for club organisers.

The updates, which form part of an ongoing series of platform highlights, are designed to support the training and community engagement of the platform’s international user base.

In an effort to maintain the integrity of its competitive features, Strava has also been addressing leaderboard accuracy. Here, the company reprocessed the top 100 rides across all its ride leaderboards using improved e-bike detection.

This process resulted in the removal of 3.9 million activities, including 2.3 million e-bike rides that had been incorrectly categorised. The company noted that this was intended to ensure competition remains fair and that progress is meaningful for its users.

One of the primary product updates involves the Strava Apple Watch app, which has launched route navigation and maps globally. This feature allows subscribers to follow saved routes directly from their wrist. According to the company, the update is intended to bring a more complete training ecosystem – including planning and progress tracking – to the watch interface.

For those managing communities on the platform, new club event tools have been introduced. Club organisers can now create events for any sport supported by the platform and set specific RSVP limits. The update also aims to make it easier for members to locate both past and upcoming events in a centralised location.

Subscribers now have access to personalised workout recommendations based on their recent activity and specific weekly goals, such as Maintain, Build, Explore, or Recover. These workouts can be sent directly to Apple Watch or Garmin devices to provide athletes with hands-free guidance during running or riding sessions.

The platform has also updated its features for winter sports during the 2025–2026 season. New real-time run tracking has been designed to automatically remove chairlift time to provide more accurate downhill performance data.

Subscribers using the platform for winter activities also receive access to detailed maps showing trails, lifts, and terrain. Additionally, live elevation tracking has been enabled across all winter sports on both mobile devices and smartwatches.
