Gravel going rogue, as Obed debuts TTR drop-bar mountain bike

Obed TTR

Chattanooga, TN-based Obed Bikes has introduced the TTR, a new drop-bar mountain bike designed to bridge the gap between gravel riding and cross-country mountain biking. Released on July 9, 2026, the new model is designed for rugged terrain and off-grid riding.

Obed is a carbon road and gravel brand owned by American Bicycle Group (ABG), which also manufactures Litespeed titanium bikes and Quintana Roo triathlon and road bikes. The company hand-assembles and paints its bikes at its headquarters in Chattanooga, TN.

The TTR frame features a compact, cross-country-inspired design utilising Detour Seatstays. These seatstays are disconnected from the seat tube to increase vertical compliance and rider comfort over rough surfaces. The geometry and reach have been designed specifically to accommodate drop-bar positioning and handling.

To provide versatility across different terrains, the TTR offers clearance for mountain bike tyres up to 2.4 inches. It also features a universal derailleur hanger, ensuring compatibility with modern Full Mount drivetrain technologies.

The company offers various build configurations to suit different rider preferences. Customers can choose a Shimano build that pairs an XT Di2 rear derailleur and cassette with GRX shifters. Alternatively, a SRAM option combines a GX Eagle T-Type derailleur with Force shifters.

Designed for adaptability, the TTR can be outfitted with options such as 100mm suspension forks and dropper posts. It is equipped with standard external cockpit cable routing to allow riders to adjust their setup and swap bars easily.

Each bike is built to order, with customers able to select from a range of paint, logo, and component options. The base build features Industry Nine 1/1 Sector Alloy wheels, a SRAM Apex Eagle mechanical drivetrain, and a RockShox SID SL Select suspension fork. Pricing for the base build starts at US$4,499.
