IRONMAN world champion Lucy Charles-Barclay and waterproof audio company H2O Audio have launched a limited-edition LUCY CHARLES-BARCLAY x TRI 2 PRO headphone collaboration.
The waterproof multisport headphones, which the British triathlete uses across her swimming, cycling, and running training, have been released in a limited run of 500 units.
Designed around the theme ‘The Work Behind the Win’, the edition focuses on the training hours required for race-day performance. Kristian Rauhala, Founder and CEO at H2O Audio, said “She’s a world champion who understands the demands of endurance training – in water, on the bike and on the road. Her drive, focus and determination to ‘Go Beyond’ are at the heart of H2O Audio’s mission.”
Lucy Charles-Barclay helped design the special edition, selecting a custom blue-and-white colourway and recording an exclusive preloaded audio message for buyers.
Charles-Barclay said “Triathlons require me to move through three very different environments, and the TRI 2 PRO fits naturally into my swim, bike and run training. The controls are easy to use in the water, the open-ear sound feels clear, and PLAYLIST+ lets me take my music with me without relying on my phone.”
To mark the launch, Charles-Barclay is revealing the collaboration on her YouTube channel, taking viewers inside a full training day.
The LUCY CHARLES-BARCLAY x TRI 2 PRO features open-ear bone conduction technology, allowing athletes to stay aware of their surrounding environment during outdoor training.
The product carries an IPX8 waterproof rating, making it submersible to 3.6m (12 feet) with no time limit for underwater use. It also incorporates PLAYLIST+ technology, which enables users to record audio directly from a Bluetooth source onto the device for phone-free listening while swimming, alongside onboard MP3 memory and a battery offering up to nine hours in Bluetooth mode or six hours in memory mode.
The limited-edition headphones are available exclusively through the manufacturer, which is based in San Diego, CA, for US$219.99 while supplies last.
