Virtual cycling and running platform Zwift has announced the launch of The Wild Isles, a new coastal expansion adding approximately 17km of flat terrain to its main Watopia world.
Visually inspired by California’s Pacific coast and Catalina Island, the expansion introduces three interconnected islands situated between Watopia’s Mayan Jungle and Jarvis Island. The new road network offers a flat bypass route around the Jungle area, allowing users to connect longer, lower-gradient routes across the broader virtual map.
The island layouts feature dedicated circuit designs intended for crit racing alongside general free riding and group events. The scenery incorporates virtual renderings of local wildlife models, including bison, whales, and egrets.
At launch, the expansion includes nine cycling routes:
- Caldera Coaster
- The Watopia 150
- Seafoam Circuit
- Laps, Camera, Traction
- Watt Goes Up Must Come Down
- Four Foalsmen
- California Dreamin’
- California Roll
- Pacific Pursuit
Additionally, three running-specific routes have been added to the map:
- Seafoam Scamper
- Lightning Lap Run
- Lava Legs
The Wild Isles content was made available to all Zwift subscribers on October 26, 2026, coinciding with Stage 4 of the ongoing Tour of Watopia event series.
