Building on Olympic success in Beijing, Blue Competition Cycles claims that its new Triad bike ‘is the fastest way from point A to point B’. The Triad is focused on time trials and triathlon, and the company is now putting its money where its mouth is. For purchases of a 2009 Blue Triad complete bike, and provided the purchaser fills out the warranty card he or she will receive a free hour in a wind tunnel.
The free hour of wind tunnel time is at the A2 wind tunnel in Charlotte, North Carolina, the same tunnel that helped Kristen Armstrong time trial to an Olympic gold medal.
Blue’s new Triad combines aerodynamic design, carbon fibre and a proprietary fabrication process. The Triad breaks new design ground by taking into consideration the interaction of the rider with the frame and wheels. This minimises drag, coupled with new features such as internal cable routing, curved chain stays and the rear brake being positioned underneath the bottom bracket.
