Reflecting sustained interest in the Ironman Switzerland event in recent years, all 2,222 slots have been sold for the 2009 event within only six weeks. This is a new record for the iconic event.
Meanwhile, The Ironman 70.3 Switzerland event in Rapperswil-Jona has almost reached capacity. Here, although the number of athletes has been increased up to 2,200 participants, the organisers are pleased to announce that there are currently only 40 available slots left for Ironman 70.3 Switzerland, to be held on 7 June 2009.
Located on Lake Zurich, Ironman Switzerland has a spectacular race course. Starting with a calm, but beautiful swim in Lake Zurich, the race then leads through a challenging bike course with a breathtaking view of the Swiss Alps before ending with a run on the shore of the lake.
