Cervélo has released teaser details on the latest steed in the company’s P series of triathlon/time trial bikes. As Cervélo pointed out via Twitter ‘P5 is coming Jan 18! Continuing our position in front of the pack, the fastest tri bike on the road from the best engineers in the business.’
The January unveiling of the P5 has already sent media and social networks into a buzz of speculation.
According to teaser documents released by Cervélo, there are two P5 frameset models in the pipeline. It is being speculated that the P5 shall appear in both a triathlon specific version and a UCI-legal time trial variant. Although, an alternative theory is that both P5 frames will feature a similar profile but will be built with different carbon fibre technology; this might see the P5 take the ‘good, better, best’ approach that Cervélo first introduced with the S5 aero road frame.
Building on the virtues of the Cervélo P4, which has built a strong following across the multisport community, it is expected that the P5’s overall shape will be distinctive and easily identified as Cervélo.
