Sun Multisport Events has announced the keynote speakers for the 2011 Multisport World Conference and Expo series to be produced in New York, NY, Cambridge, MA and North Bethesda, MD this March.
In 2011, the Multisport World event series includes triathlon legends Dave Scott and Karen Smyers, alongside sports medicine physician Dr Jordan Metzl.
Developed in partnership with the Northeast and Mid Atlantic regional councils of USA Triathlon (USAT), Multisport World offers triathletes expert-led seminars, clinics, workshops, competitive events and a large and diverse vendor expo.
The expo features race directors, coaches, clubs, health & wellness professionals and retailers and manufacturers of anything a multisport athlete could need to start the season. The 2011 Multisport World series is expected to draw more than 5,000 multisport athletes.
Multisport World NYC is the first event in the series and will be held on 12 March 2011 at Columbia University’s Dodge Fitness Center in upper Manhattan. Renowned sports medicine physician Dr Jordan Metzl of Hospital for Special Surgery and Triathlete magazine leads an all-star line-up of more than 25 coaches and professionals who will be on hand to present throughout the day.
Dave Scott, 6x Ironman World Champion and one of the most recognisable names in the sport, will headline the Cambridge, MA event to be held on 19 March 2011 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center.
Scott will deliver the day’s keynote presentation and also lead two training workshops offering triathletes a valuable opportunity to learn directly from the expertise and experience of ‘The Man’.
The final stop in the Multisport World series is 27 March 2011, which will be held at Georgetown Prep’s Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence in North Bethesda, MD (less than 20 miles from downtown Washington DC). The keynote for this event will be delivered by Karen Smyers, one of the most accomplished triathletes in the history of the sport and inductee to the inaugural USA Triathlon Hall of Fame.
