CRC teams up with Sustrans Free Range Kids campaign

As part of its ongoing Free Range Kids campaign, UK sustainable transport charity Sustrans is running a ‘Name the Wheelies and Win competition’, in which leading online bike retailer Chain Reaction Cycles (CRC) has donated six prizes.

The Sustrans Big Pedal Wheelies are six quirky characters created by the organisation to promote the campaign and get more children cycling and scooting to school. Throughout the month of March, entries are being taken to name each of the six characters.

What’s a Free Range Kid?
Free Range Kids are children and young people who experience freedom from their front door. They have the confidence to travel independently, play outdoors and explore their local community – and have the skills, opportunities and support to do so safely.

Sustrans notes that the enormous rise in the speed and volume of UK traffic has driven children indoors or into cars to be ferried around. Fear of traffic danger is twice as much a concern to parents as ‘stranger danger’.
