Hydrapak is OEM reservoir supplier for Shimano and The North Face

Hydrapak, a leading global supplier of active lifestyle hydration equipment, has been selected as key OEM hydration provider for Shimano and The North Face, as both companies introduce a range of new products to the hands-free hydration category.

Shimano’s all-new 2013 cycling bag product line includes the ACCU3D Unzen – designed for aggressive off-road riding. This pack will provide cyclists hydration through Hydrapak’s 2 litre Elite Reservoir, featuring custom Shimano embossing. Additionally, Shimano will sell the 3 litre Elite Reservoir as a component for cyclists looking to upgrade their existing reservoir.

“Shimano has chosen to partner with Hydrapak for a number of reasons. One of them is its ease of use, in regard to use while you’re riding, but also afterwards when cleaning,” said Shimano Product Manager Evert-Jan Haarhuis, “Furthermore; the hydration system is extremely durable and strong. Shimano will use Hydrapak hydration systems in our new Unzen 6L, 10L and 15L versions. We are proud to use Hydrapak as our new partner and look forward to a fruitful and long-lasting partnership.”

Hydrapak’s Reversible Elite Reservoir, featuring Shape-Loc baffled technology, will also now be the standard-issue hydration reservoir in The North Face’s Torrent packs, while the Reversible Elite Reservoir will be standard throughout its Enduro styles.

The Torrent and Enduro Pack will be available at specialty retailers, REI, and The North Face’s 47 global retail stores. The North Face’s Retail Team will merchandise Hydrapak’s universal components – including Reversible Reservoirs with Shape-Shift Technology, Hydrafusion Insulated Tubes, Surge Valves, etc.

“We are excited to welcome Shimano and The North Face to our growing list of customers,” said Hydrapak’s Director of Sales Matt Patterson, “These brands are consistent innovators and market leaders in their respective sports; we are honoured to have the opportunity to collaborate with them in their product design process.”

These latest additions expand the impressive roster of premium manufacturers that integrate Hydrapak hydration components into their designs — including Salomon, DaKine, Vaude, Nathan, Backcountry Access, EVOC, Oakley, Columbia, Fox, Ogio, Kriega, Scott, BMW, KTM, Berghaus and Geigerrig.

According to Hydrapak, these partnerships ‘demonstrate the evolving dynamic of the hydration category, which has found new energy and excitement with increased brand participation and product offerings.’
