New Rudy Project Stratofly sunglasses

For both newcomers and veterans to the Rudy Project world of optical design and performance, the Italian company has introduced the Stratofly. The company notes that the new Stratofly sunglasses merge many of the functional features of its best-loved models with a simple design, available in eight stylish colour combinations.

Throughout the past few decades, Rudy Project has focused its creative efforts on the quest for optical performance suitable for the world of performance athletes – and Rudy has continued this mission with the Stratofly. The sunglasses are positioned as being ideal for cycling and mountain bike enthusiasts, ‘as well as other athletes who like to look great while doing what they love.’

“We’re thrilled to unveil this sunglass because it combines all of the extraordinary aspects that make Rudy Project the best sunglass company in the world,” said Paul Craig, President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America.

“The Stratofly incorporates cutting-edge technology with Italian design, all the while keeping the demands of the athlete in mind,” he added.

As with other Rudy Project products, the strong attention to detail is a driving feature. The Stratofly has no-slip, soft rubber temple tips and an adjustable Ergo IV nosepiece, giving it ‘a perfect fit, for every face’. The technically advanced design of the Stratofly aims to eliminate fogging and offer the utmost in comfort and eye protection.

While lessening glare, the Stratofly provides a high contrast perspective and a distortion-free view, protecting against UV rays and external hazards such as debris and sun. Athletes can choose from a wide range of Rudy Project lenses, which boast the brand’s interchangeable Quick Change system, allowing a quick swap of lenses, depending on the weather and light conditions.

Stratofly also caters to those who have visual impairments, thanks to its highly refined RX option with broad parameters for those with vision correction needs, allowing ‘even the most visually challenged to enjoy the benefits of style, comfort and perfect vision.’

The sunglasses also have the option of adding the clip-on corrective optical insert – a practical solution that lets athletes update their visual correction needs in the future, without changing the glasses completely.

Rudy Project designs and manufactures hi-tech sunglasses, Rxes, goggles and helmets. Designed and made in Italy since 1985, Rudy Project has grown quickly as a premier brand throughout North America in particular.

Rudy Project has won Outside Magazine’s prestigious ‘Gear of the Year’ Award twice for its cutting edge frame and lens technologies. Rudy helmets were recognized as the number one, most worn TT helmet brand at the 2011 World Championship in Kona, Hawai’i; and the Wingspan time trial helmet was selected as Triathlete Magazine’s ‘Best Aero Helmet’ in its 2012 Buyer’s Guide.

Of late, Rudy Project has prided itself in providing the ‘absolute best prescription eyewear for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts around the world.’
