Wiggle and UK Cycling Events have confirmed that cyclists will be able to book their places on the 2013 Wiggle Super Series on 29 October 2012.
Martin Barden, of UK Cycling Events, the organiser of the Wiggle Super Series, said “Uptake and feedback for the 2012 Wiggle Super Series was absolutely phenomenal. It was our biggest calendar of events so far. Though there are always more opportunities to encourage people to get out and ride- that’s why we are expanding the Wiggle Super Series in 2013”
Adam Ryan, Head of Brand Marketing at Wiggle, is equally excited at the prospect of more riders getting out on the road in 2013. “Thanks to an incredible Tour de France and Team GB’s stunning performance in the Olympics, cycling has seen an unparalleled increase in popularity in the UK this year.
Ryan continued, “The Wiggle Super Series represents the very best in sportives, so we are very excited about expanding on the number of events we are running this year across the UK. Furthermore we are investing more resource into improving on what is already a fantastic experience through initiatives such as improving goody bags and providing more mechanical support on the day. This year over half of the 27 Wiggle Super Series events sold out in advance. Events such as the ‘Wiggle French Revolution’ sell out in a matter of days, if not hours. This particular Sportive is positioned as being one-of-a-kind: for under £60, riders get a day trip to France and the usual Wiggle Super Series event support.
Another fast mover is the free of charge ‘Wiggle No Excuses sportive’ and this year 1500 riders claimed their free tickets. Roadies and multisport enthusiasts should also watch out for the Wiggle New Forest Spring Sportive, the Wiggle Ups & Downs and the Wiggle South Downs 100 Sportive, all of which will be snapped up in record time.
The Wiggle Super Series Early Bird incentive will also continue: riders that book any event more than 8 weeks in advance will receive a free High5 nutrition pack worth over £10. The ‘Wiggle Super Series Season Pass’ will also be back for 2013. Each pass gives the rider an automatic entry into all events at a massively reduced cost – perfect for riders looking to make the most of the ever increasing event calendar.
There are only limited numbers of passes available and Wiggle notes that they are extremely popular Christmas presents, so riders are advised to buy early.
All events in the series include well-stocked feed stations, mechanical support, chip timing, well-marked courses, massages, bike wash facilities, finishers’ medals and much more.
