Wiggle has now closed applications for the 2012 Wiggle Athlete Search. The Facebook competition opened on 20 January to prospective UK based athletes. The online multisport retailer soon found itself inundated with requests from athletes based abroad and so quickly opened up the competition to allow global entries, along with an additional option to enter the competition via e-mail.
With thousands of entries from the across the world and over 9,000 votes from Wiggle’s Facebook community, the company is now busily working its way through some incredible submissions! Within this, Wiggle is carefully refining the entries down to a shortlist of potential Team Wiggle athletes and will announce who has reached the second round in early March.
In its latest Wiggle release, the retailer said ‘Thank you to all applicants – we are thoroughly enjoying reading about your achievements, aims and passion for your chosen sports. Best of luck to everybody that has entered and thanks to those who voted. Watch this space to see if you’ve successfully reached Round 2…’
