UK multisport apparel company Bonk is teaming up with the award winning charity events series TriTogether, part of the Leonard Cheshire Disability organisation, which supports disabled people across the UK and overseas. With events in London, Lancaster and Glasgow open to disabled and non-disabled athletes, TriTogether events cater for everyone – from the complete beginner to the seasoned triathlete.
Back in February, Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD) and Bonk joined forces to launch a competition on Facebook, giving triathletes the chance to win £175 worth of clothing goodies.
Triathlon beginners and regulars have until 17 March to share their embarrassing or inspiring training stories about how they have run out of energy during training or a competition, a term otherwise known as to ‘bonk’ in the triathlon world. Participants can post their stories on LCD’s Tri Together Facebook page.
The stories will then be narrowed down to the top three as chosen by Tri Together and then it’s up to the public to decide! The story that receives the most likes and shares combined by the end of March will be crowned the winner.
With spring also in the air, the team at Bonk also want to ensure that triathletes are looking their best for the coming tri season! As a thank you for the continued support from the tri community, Bonk is offering 15% off all items purchased via its website, valid until 31 March 2013. Interested triathletes can simply visit www.bonktriathlon.com and use discount code ‘Live To Train’ in the checkout process.
Bonk was founded in 2011 by Charlie Evans, a triathlete whose life has been changed positively since discovering the sport back in 2008. It was his own love of triathlon that inspired him to launch the Bonk clothing brand – dedicated to the swim, bike, run lifestyle.
Bonk has carved out a niche in providing casual wear for the swim, bike, run community. Its ethos revolves around the culture and lifestyle of triathlon, with a laid-back attitude and cheeky approach, “We are known for taking our sport more seriously than we take ourselves,” said Evans.
The Bonk range of t-shirts, hoodies and race accessories includes popular slogans such as ‘I Will Not Bonk’ as well as the brand’s mantra ‘Live To Train’, and is available to buy at selected stores in the UK, Canada & New Zealand as well as online at www.bonktriathlon.com.
