Orca sponsors Ironman 70.3 Champ Sebastian Kienle

Wetsuit and apparel specialist Orca has confirmed a new sponsorship agreement with German triathlete Sebastian Kienle – winner of the 2012 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

Commenting on the new deal, Kienle said “I’m very proud to work together with Orca in the future. In my wetsuit test after the 2012 season I was amazed by the performance of the wetsuits and this made my decision very easy.”

Kienle is pictured in the new Orca Alpha wetsuit, which will be released in 2013.

This latest agreement helps to reinforce the current presence of Orca across international triathlon competitions, with top sponsored athletes including Chris ‘Macca’ McCormack, Andrew Starykovicz, Asa Lundström, Courtney Atkinson, Jodie Stimpson and Matt Sharp to name but a few.

“We are happy to have Sebastian on board for a long partnership, not only for him to be an incredible athlete always fighting till the end, but as well for his extreme and deep interest in being supported by the best products to compete,” said Raúl Casañas, Orca Marketing Manager.

“This will push us forward to develop even better products for triathlon that have been tested by him.”

Heralding from New Zealand, Orca is part of the Orbea family – with Orbea and Orca reaching an agreement in 2011 for Spanish Orbea to acquire Orca’s ‘operation rights in the triathlon and compression area.’

Orbea is part of the Mondragón Cooperative Corporation and is Spain’s largest bicycle operator.
