Spectator access as Interbike rides with CLIF Bar CrossVegas

Interbike, the largest bicycle industry trade show in North America, has a new agreement with Cross Vegas to allow CrossVegas 2013 spectators admission to the annual tradeshow event on Friday 20 September 2013.

CrossVegas attendees can either pre-register through the CrossVegas site or they can present their ticket stub on Friday morning at Interbike’s registration area (within the Mandalay Bay Convention Center), pay a US$25 fee for entry and will be given access to the show from 11:00 to 18:00.

This access is different than the full day (09:00 – 18:00) access that will be granted to the ‘Interbike by Invitation’ guests. Interbike by Invitation guests will also receive special promotional items, separate registration and more as part of their package.

“CrossVegas is a supporter and long-time partner of ours, and it seemed only fitting to allow their loyal fans access to the show on Friday,” said Pat Hus, Vice President of Interbike. “Between CrossVegas on Wednesday, the USA CRITS Finals on Thursday and the show access on Friday, there’s a great week of cycling events to entice all cycling fans to join us in Las Vegas.”

CrossVegas Race Director Brook Watts expects this year’s event to attract more than 10,000 spectators – with reigning World Champion Sven Nys competing for the first time, and the new opportunity for fans to experience Interbike.

“CrossVegas and Interbike have worked together from the earliest years of the race,” said Watts. “It’s been a great partnership that creates thrilling entertainment for Interbike attendees and tremendous promotional value for CrossVegas sponsors. The addition of show access for our loyal fans is icing on the cake, and a great way for the fans of our sport to see the best brands in our industry under one roof.”

CrossVegas takes place on Wednesday 18 September 2013 at Desert Breeze Soccer Complex. Shuttle buses from The Mandalay Bay Convention Center to CrossVegas run continuously from 17:30 – 23:00. Interbike badges are required to board the bus. Racing starts at 17:00, with the UCI Elite Men’s field wrapping up the evening of racing at 21:30.

As North America’s largest bicycle trade event, Interbike brings together manufacturers, retailers, industry advocates and media to conduct the business of cycling. Established in 1982, the show gathers more than 1,200 cycling-related brands, over 25,000 total attendees annually and is considered one of the most important global trade events for the bicycle industry.

Interbike is one of 65 premier tradeshows owned and operated by Emerald Expositions, a leading producer of large business-to-business tradeshows. Emerald Expositions, based in San Juan Capistrano, California, produces shows and conference events globally that connect more than 335,000 buyers and sellers across nine diversified end-markets. Markets covered include general merchandise, sports, hospitality and retail design, jewelry, photography, decorated apparel, building, healthcare and military.

CrossVegas is the biggest cyclocross race in America. The night-time race takes place in September each year at the Desert Breeze Soccer Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, just minutes from the famous Vegas Strip. CrossVegas has seen impressive growth since its inaugural race in 2007, and each year attracts an increasingly elite field of US and foreign racers as well as over 10,000 spectators.
