Having confirmed a sponsorship deal earlier this year with ‘Ireland’s newest and fast emerging concept clothing brand’, shadow, Triathlon Ireland (TI) has confirmed that shadow has been appointed as the national governing body’s official clothing supplier until the end of 2016.
A range of both performance and leisure clothing was on show at Triathlon Ireland’s Talent Identification Day in Athlone last weekend, modelled by Age Group triathletes Oisin McGrath and Carrie McGowan, along with members of the National Junior Squad.
In addition to providing Ireland’s top elite triathletes with tri suits, cycling, athletics, podium-wear and leisure-wear for international competition there is also a range of kit available for Ireland’s age group athletes.
Triathlon Ireland notes that the success of Ireland’s elite triathletes in recent years has been matched by that of age group athletes racing in European and World Championships. A 400 strong team is expected to travel to the World Championships, which take place in London in September 2013, a record number for the governing body.
“There is a fantastic range of clothing and accessories available to our triathletes now,” commented Triathlon Ireland CEO, Chris Kitchen. “shadow have worked closely with us to ensure the quality and design of the clothing is the best available, so that in future our teams travelling abroad with look as good as they perform.”
Speaking at Triathlon Ireland’s Talent Identification Day, shadow’s Creative Director Susan McGowan added, “As an Irish company, shadow are very proud to be partnering with Triathlon Ireland to assemble a premium technical and leisure kit that demonstrates a strong, cohesive and unified brand for our Irish team. We are entirely confident that this will be mirrored by the strength and success of the ever-increasing number of Irish Triathletes throughout the coming season.”
A full online kit store will form the ordering and customisation hub for Ireland’s age groupers; allowing athletes to personalise everything from tri suits to backpacks. The kit store will be launching in the coming days at triathlonireland.com and also via the shadow website at raceyourshadow.com.
