Triathlon Business International 2014 Annual Conference to land in Marina del Rey

Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon internationally, has announced the date and location of its 4th annual industry conference: 26-28 January 2014 in Marina del Rey, known as the coastal playground of Los Angeles.

Marina del Rey is a favourite location of fitness lovers and outdoor enthusiasts with easy access to the ocean, coastal bike trails, running paths, seaside parks and breezy beaches. It is 10 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), within walking distance of nearby, iconic Venice Beach, and a very short drive to Santa Monica. As noted by TBI, the location epitomizes the multisport industry and culture.

TBI’s Ron Smith Triathletes of the Year Awards, and its multisport retailers and products industry awards will be presented on Monday 27 January at a dinner event as part of the conference proceedings.

Race director track
A new addition to the conference calendar is a race director track that will specifically target this segment of attendees. The race director track will include opportunities for race directors to meet and network with peers across the US, and become informed on various issues and trends facing the multisport industry and race production.

Founded by a coalition of industry leaders, TBI’s mission is to leverage the knowledge, talent and resources of the leaders in triathlon to the benefit of the sport. Its overarching goals are to increase and retain advocates of and participants in triathlon, and to foster a positive image of the sport globally.

TBI Global Conference
TBI’s inaugural global conference takes place in London on 10-12 September in tandem with the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Hyde Park.

This first-ever global conference targets retailers, event directors, service providers, manufacturers, industry executives and athletes who make their living in the fastest growing sport on the planet: triathlon.

The conference schedule has been coordinated with the ITU Triathlon World Championship Grand Final at Hyde Park to provide convenience without conflict for attendees and participants of both events. TBI will host a reception for conference attendees on Wednesday 11 September prior to the ITU World Championships Opening Ceremony in Trafalgar Square.
