A group of Belgian-based companies have partnered to create Belgian Huis, a unique Belgian cycling experience, during the 2014 Interbike International Bicycle Expo. The ‘Huis’ or house, which includes nine Belgian brands on display, is a mansion located minutes from the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The invitation-only event is offered to independent bike dealers and members of the media from 8-12 September 2014.
The nine participating companies are: 30Seven, Bioracer, Concap, Dr2coach, Go4Cycling, Morgan Blue, Ridley, Visit Flanders and BelgiumBike.
Richard Wittenberg, Ridley Bikes’ Vice President, International Operations, described Belgian Huis as a unique and intimate opportunity for dealers and editors to meet one-on-one with representatives for different Belgian brands. “Of course, we have a booth at the show,” he explained. “But our Huis offers more space and a more relaxed atmosphere for us to interact. We’re minutes from the show, and we have a shuttle concierge to bring guests back and forth.”
Visitors to Belgian Huis will have the opportunity to view and learn about products from the participating companies. Belgian fare including waffles and beer will be served free of charge and all attendees will be entered for a prize draw, which includes Lion of Flanders Flags, apparel, supplements, cleaning products, coaching packages, and a Grand Prize trip to Flanders.
“The best way to appreciate Belgian cycling is to experience it,” said Roel Vanmuysen, founder of BelgiumBike. “Thanks to Go4Cycling and Tourism Flanders, we will award a prize to send one lucky attendee and their guest to Flanders, where they can participate in organized rides, watch the Tour of Flanders, and travel in luxury in Belgium.”
Belgian Huis events are planned for the week of 8-12 September and include daily meetings by appointment, a Media Belgian Breakfast on Tuesday, a Dealer Belgian Breakfast on Thursday, and an invite-only BBQ and pool party also on Thursday at 19:00 local time. Additionally, the participating companies’ products are on display during Interbike at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Booth #27109.
Qualified visitors to Belgian Huis receive raffle entries for each separate visit. A draw for all prizes, including the Grand Prize trip to Flanders, will be held on Thursday 11 September at 21:30. The winner will not need to be present to win, but must respond via Twitter promptly to claim the prize.
