Arctic Ease, a specialist in cold and compression therapy and maker of the patent-pending Arctic Ease Cold Therapy Wrap, has tied up a three-year partnership with Ironman in North America.
As an Ironman sponsor, Arctic Ease will be integrated into the Ironman North American triathlon series. To support the active recovery of Ironman participants and spectators, Arctic Ease will provide cold and compression therapy sample wraps to event participants at North American Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events for the next three years. In total Arctic Ease will donate over 300,000 wraps to race participants.
In addition, Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events in North America will feature the ‘Arctic Ease Cool Relief and Reunion Zone’ near the finish line area where triathletes and their dedicated supporters can reunite post-race while experiencing some much-needed soothing recovery.
Arctic Ease will have an onsite presence throughout the race season at each event’s Ironman Village – providing samples and allowing athletes to interact with its products. The brand will also be the title sponsor of the Ironman Finisher Day following each full distance Ironman event.
“Ironman is the perfect partner for Arctic Ease, as the organization promotes all of the qualities that the Arctic Ease user embodies,” said Arctic Ease President & COO, Peter Costello.
“Ironman attracts and celebrates goal-driven high-achievers who thrive in high-pressure environments. The Ironman competitor cannot be tethered to cumbersome ice treatments while training or during recovery; Arctic Ease provides a practical solution for the treatment of their aches and pains.”
“Ironman promotes athletic success and informed healthy preparation, both of which are in step with the Arctic Ease mission. We are thrilled to partner with Arctic Ease to help provide our athletes a meaningful product that promotes healing without comprising goal achievement,” added Carola Ross, Chief Sales Officer of Ironman.
Arctic Ease and Ironman will continue their partnership beyond race days through a series of articles on Ironman.com focusing on recovery recommendations.
#EaseIntoKona Photo Contest
To kick off the 2014 event season, Arctic Ease will launch the #EaseIntoKona Contest through its partnership with Ironman. This contest will honour the daily tenacity displayed by triathletes – and all active adults – as they persevere to meet their fitness goals.
Starting on 15 May 2014 and going through 15 August 2014, Arctic Ease users can upload images or video to facebook.com/ArcticEaseWrap showing how they wear Arctic Ease to soothe their day-to-day aches and pains and overcome obstacles to staying active.
The contest will culminate with the selection of a grand prize winner, who will receive ‘The Ultimate Recovery Day Prize’ – a trip for two to the Ironman World Championship presented by GoPro in Kona, Hawaii, on 11 October 2014. This trip will include a four-night stay in a hotel in Kona, round trip airline tickets and two VIP Ironman World Championship race passes.
Arctic Ease is an innovative reusable cooling wrap that aims to provide hours of relief, all without the need for refrigeration. The product combines the benefits of cold and compression therapy with the ability for the user to remain active and mobile.
In a clinical study, Arctic Ease proved as effective as the commonly used ice treatment RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation) in reducing pain, swelling and improving mobility. According to the company, because it was more comfortable and convenient, patients kept it on longer.
Arctic Ease is easy to use – ‘simply unroll, wrap and start healing on-the-go’. Arctic Ease wraps are also biodegradable, eco-friendly, anti-microbial and odour-free, making the product ‘a must have for Ironman athletes as well as fitness novices and every day active adults.’
