With now just a few days to go before the 2014 Triathlon Show opens its doors, the event organisers have announced that double Olympic Gold medallist, Daley Thompson will be attending as a special guest.
This year’s Triathlon Show will return to Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey, from 28 February – 2 March 2014.
Leading UK mass participation events firm Human Race will welcome Daley Thompson onto stand E8 in the show’s Events Zone from 13:00 to 15:00 GMT on Saturday 1 March. Athletes are encouraged to head over to the Event Zone for a chance to ask the four-time world record breaking decathlete any burning questions.
The Olympic theme continues on the Zone3 stand (S31) as South Africa’s number one female triathlete Gill Sanders will be on hand to share her knowledge on Sunday 2 March.
To make it a hat trick of sporting elites, Chrissie Wellington’s former coach, Dave Scott will be at the show for the entire weekend. The 6 x World Ironman Champ will be leading seminars and offering unique insight into how to kick-start a training regime.
There is also a chance to enjoy the Surrey countryside with Evans Cycles, which will be running sportives on the Saturday and Sunday of the show. Starting from the Sandown Park Race course, these rides will strike out for the North Downs and some classic hills, where riders can expect to see Combe Lane and White Down.
Evans Cycles has kept the routes at slightly shorter winter lengths of 15 to 70 miles so riders can enjoy the fresh air, have a great ride and then return to browse the stands, enjoying a fill of all the show’s nutrition samples!
Ensuring that athletes can speak to the experts for the latest in sport science advancements, Surrey Health Performance Institute will be conducting performance testing in running and cycling, body composition and sweat analysis on stand P38.
Meanwhile, the show’s biomechanical partner Sub 4 will be on hand to offer free biomechanical assessments to help ease any muscle, joint and back pain. Here, show visitors should pre-register to guarantee a place (email info[at]sub-4.co.uk quoting the Triathlon Show 2014).
Exclusive to the show will be the launch of Dassi’s brand new elite women’s team – athletes could even win a breakfast ride out with the team on Saturday 1 March.
Positioned as a must-attend event for both aspiring and experienced triathletes with dedicated zones for all things swim, bike, run – the 2014 Triathlon Show will include a raft of free samples, product trials, the presence of star triathletes and the annual Sunday 10K run.

The Triathlon Show was acquired by Immediate Media Co, the publisher of 220 Triathlon, ‘the UK’s bestselling triathlon magazine’, in March 2013. Immediate is now responsible for the production and management of the show, which celebrated its 11th successful year in March 2013, attracting over 7,000 visitors during the course of the weekend.
