HOKA ONE ONE, a division of Deckers Brands, has received the Independent Running Retailer Association’s 2014 Running Shoe of the Year Award for the Clifton running shoe. The award was presented at The Running Event in Austin, Texas.
The HOKA ONE ONE Clifton offers extreme cushioning in a lightweight package that weighs just 7.7 ounces (men’s size 9). HOKA notes that its signature sculpting geometry provides a fluid, efficient ride, while a seamless, SpeedFrame upper helps reduce overall weight.
“A distinction of this magnitude is amplified for us knowing it is coming directly from our retail family,” said HOKA ONE ONE President Jim Van Dine. “The level of knowledge and respect independent retailers have makes this award extra special for us.”
The Independent Running Retailer Association is a trade association comprised of over 170 retail members.
HOKA ONE ONE is billed as ‘the fastest growing, premium running shoe brand in the world.’ Two life-long runners launched HOKA in 2009, after years spent handcrafting and shaping lightweight shoes with extra-thick midsoles.
Initially embraced by ultrarunners because of their enhanced cushioning and inherent stability, HOKA now offers shoes for all types of runners who enjoy the unique ride the shoes provide.
