An opportunity has opened up for a new Head of Sales at the London office of Lagardere Unlimited Events. Lagardère is seeking a senior sales manager who will be responsible for recruiting commercial partners for events implemented in the UK. The role will suit a very driven professional who is passionate about promoting the commercial appeal of active events.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will be based in the company’s London office and will lead a team to implement partner retention and acquisition plans.
Lagardère Unlimited Events is one of the leading sports event organisers in Europe. The company specialises in the development, hosting and organisation of elite as well as mass participation sport events particularly in cycling, running and triathlon. The company is based in Hamburg, Germany with offices in London, Stockholm, Paris and New Zealand.
Lagardère is the commercial partner of the International Triathlon Union’s ITU World Triathlon Series. In the UK it organises the ITU World Triathlon London and Tri Liverpool events – with other events coming on-stream.
Key responsibilities:
- Build acquisition and retention strategies for event products
- Identifying key decision makers and develop bespoke marketing presentations
- Select and qualify prospects, securing in person meetings and building relationships
- Manage the sales process, presenting benefits of partnership to drive competitive interest
- Demonstrate the premium nature of products in all external interactions
- Ensure that contact databases of target companies are maintained
- Renew partnerships and manage performance appraisals of partnerships
- Forecast commercial appeal of product range; attain and surpass revenue targets
Key experience:
- Strong business to business sales background; with excellent performance credentials
- Experience of calling, pitching and building relationships with very senior executives
- Passionate and intelligent presentation skills
- Established and relevant contacts directory
- Well-grounded in leading direct sales negotiation processes
Key competencies:
- Outstanding at building strong trust based relationships across all management levels
- Confident, self-motivated, ambitious and hard working
- Strong communication skills and able to perform well under pressure
- Independent and innovative
