Life in the fast lane: SuperSprint added to Human Race’s September Sprints

Human Race has today announced that a new SuperSprint triathlon wave has been added to its September Sprints event, taking place at Eton Dorney Rowing Lake in southern England on 6 September.

Human Race’s popular Garmin Eton SuperSprints, in May, has become widely associated with the start of the triathlon season. Thousands of participants flock to the event to enjoy the short-format of the sport, on an ideal course provided at the venue.

As Human Race points out, ‘Many have likened the lake to the giant swimming pool, calm, clean and clear; you can even see the rowing lanes along the bottom, which can act as a guide. As for the bike and run, both take place on completely flat closed-roads, so no need to worry about hills or traffic, just put your head down and go for it!’

The new SuperSprint distance in September will involve a 400m swim, 10.6K bike and 2.5K run, taking place alongside the original Sprint distance which is a 750m swim, 21.2K bike and 5K run.

Coming towards the end of the season, the event is seen as a great chance to put a year’s training and conditioning to good use and ‘go for a great time on the perfect course for a PB.’ For those who are newer to the sport, it’s an ‘opportunity to get a triathlon under your belt before perhaps aiming for a longer distance or quicker time in 2015.’
