The London Triathlon this coming weekend, on 2-3 August 2014, has been selected for the official launch of Science Fitness – a new sports nutrition brand that will be unveiling GlycoSource, the first in ‘a series of breakthrough endurance and recovery products developed in partnership with leading scientists at Leeds Metropolitan University.’
Science Fitness GlycoSource is billed as ‘the first and only commercially available nutritional supplement whose formulation is clinically proven to increase glycogen in both the muscles and the liver – an internal process that is vital to performance and especially to recovery after exhaustive exercise.’
Fiona Lazenby, Managing Director of Principle Healthcare, the company behind the new Science Fitness brand, said “The London Triathlon is the world’s biggest and most iconic triathlon, and so stood out as the perfect place to launch our new Science Fitness brand and GlycoSource product to market. We’re thrilled to be part of this fantastic event and are looking forward to meeting athletes, supporters and spectators from the triathlon community.”
Science Fitness will be launching a new website and online shop to coincide with the London Triathlon unveiling. (The Science Fitness Stand is 31C.)
Science Fitness will use the London Triathlon event to open sales for GlycoSource powdered drink mix, the first product in this new range, which will be available in Mandarin Zest, Very Berry and Caribbean Crush flavours, in both 750g pouches and handy 25g single-serve sachets.
To celebrate, Science Fitness will also be unveiling its partnership with The Triathlon Coach – three times winners of the 220 Triathlon Coach of the Year Award and the current coaches to the Brownlee brothers – and offering visitors the chance to win a personalised multisport coaching plan.
Visitors to the Science Fitness stand will also be invited to sample GlycoSource as well as take part in live Wattbike experiments and competitions, under the guidance of Ben Taylor, a PhD student from the Institute of Sport, Physical Activity and Leisure at Leeds Metropolitan University. There will also be details of the Science Fitness Brand Ambassador Club and how to apply.
Ben Taylor was part of the team of scientists who developed and conducted the clinical trials for GlycoSource. He will be putting visitors through their paces on the Wattbike, which itself partners with the United States Olympic Committee and British Cycling, to name but a few.
Ben, along with official representatives from the new Science Fitness brand, will also be on hand to answer questions about the unique formulation of GlycoSource, which ‘uses 44% less carbohydrate than other leading recovery products, whilst actively increasing glycogen by 30-40% and providing 35% more endurance capacity than pure carb-loading.’
According to Science Fitness, these impressive results enable athletes to be at their very best with minimum time between training and competing.
