Like the Wind magazine – the ‘quarterly title that deals with the why of running, not the how’ – is opening a Pop-Up in Shoreditch for a week from 27 October to 2 November and every runner in London, and beyond, is invited.
Like the Wind notes that running is an inherently democratic sport – it is cheap to get started, you can do it anywhere and there’s masses of practical advice on how to get started and get better available for free.
‘What many people who start to run regularly discover is that running is also a sport that creates amazing emotions and experiences. These are what Like the Wind magazine sets out to capture through stories about running from all types of runner in every environment imaginable.’
To coincide with the third issue of Like the Wind, the team behind the magazine is opening a week-long Pop-Up at Blackall Studios on Leonard Street, in Shoreditch, central London.
The Pop-Up will house a collection of artworks from the magazine, some special products from around the world and a whole host of events including creative workshops, guided runs, film nights and inspiring talks. Here is the schedule so far (with some more events to be announced):
- Monday 27 October – Creative writing workshop with poet, written word teacher, runner and founder of RunDemCrew, Charlie Dark
- Wednesday 29 October – Sewing Workshop: Make Your Own Running Tights with Melissa Fehr

- Thursday 30 October – Action photography workshop with Ian Corless – the man behind many of the most iconic and inspiring shots of mountain runners; Ian will deliver a practical and inspiring session looking at how amateur photographers can get the most from their camera at endurance sports events
- Friday 31 October – Running Is… a panel of speakers, including the incredible Steve Way, will talk about what running is to them. Expect humour, controversy and emotions.

- Sunday 2 November – Trails in Motion film tour part #2: this is the second part of the Trails in Motion tour, featuring two documentary films, 7 short films and some special guests.
