TV eye on LLR Blenheim Palace Triathlon

Following TV coverage of the Vibram Tarawera Ultra Marathon airing on UK television last weekend, sports production firm Dream Team is continuing its summer of extensive programming on mainstream TV.

Next up for a mainstream TV airing on Channel 4 is the 2014 Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Blenheim Palace Triathlon, which will be broadcast this Sunday 22 June at 07.05 GMT or Ch4 +1 at 08.05

The LLR Blenheim Palace Triathlon is one of the UK’s first major triathlons of the season. The event took place in Oxfordshire on 7-8 June 2014, with thousands of elites, enthusiasts and celebrities enjoying the scenic Blenheim Palace course. Set in the historic birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, ‘Britain’s second biggest triathlon’ also provides the opening round of the prestigious British Triathlon Super Series.

According to event organiser IMG, general entry sales to the 2014 event smashed records earlier this year – selling out in just nine weeks, more than three times faster than in previous years. IMG notes that athletes of all abilities grabbed their places on the start line at the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace.

The iconic event is generally considered to be an ‘official season opener’ in the UK triathlon diary with many athletes going on to take part in IMG’s iconic London Triathlon, which occurs two months later.
