Challenge Poznań set to make its mark in Poland

Poznan triathlon

Some of the best Polish and international triathletes (including medalists of the European and world championships), as well as Polish Junior Champions are heading to Challenge Pozna? in Poland on 25-26 July.

Formerly the ENEA Pozna? Triathlon, the event was rebranded under the Challenge Family umbrella towards the end of 2014. This year’s event sets the stage for 2016, when Challenge Poznan will host the official ETU European Long Distance Championships.

(The strong relationship between the European Triathlon Union (ETU) and Challenge Family is being bolstered in 2015. As, this year, Challenge Family is hosting the 2015 ETU Long Distance Championships at Challenge Weymouth on 13 September.)

The triathlon action this coming weekend at Challenge Pozna? will start with the sprint-distance Polish Junior Championships on Saturday. Juniors will start the race with 750m of swimming in the Malta Lake, then they will complete 20K of cycling and will finish with a 5K run around the Malta Lake.

Senior athletes will compete on the same distance, after the juniors. Among them is multiple world champion and Challenge Family ambassador Chris McCormack, returning from last year. Also taking place is the Olympic-distance competition (1500m/40K/10K), during which world’s leading triathletes will race, headed once again by Chris McCormack, competing for the second time that day.

Sunday should be a historic day for Polish triathlon. The world’s leading triathletes will start in the half distance Challenge Poznan. Over 40 pro athletes have registered. Meanwhile, Polish fans have high hopes for the competitors of Enea Tri Tour Team – Ewa Bugdo? and Kacper Adam – who haveoften showed their capabilities on the international stage.

Approximately 4,000 competitors from 34 countries will start during the entire Enea Challenge Pozna? series of events. In addition to all the sporting action, many attractions have been created for competitors, their families and residents of Pozna?, including a special fan zone ,ENERGIA+ Active life; a breakfast market and an expo zone.
