Club Med 2575 Championship adds Olympic distance

Club Med 2575 Championship

The staff at Miami Tri Events, organizers of the Club Med 2575 Championship, has integrated the Olympic distance to the event. The team note that the Olympic distance is one of the preferred distances within the triathlete community.

After continued requests from its athletes, Miami Tri Events reached the conclusion that the landscape of the area is ideal for adding an Olympic event. Following the success of the Club Med Championship 2014, Miami Tri Events is once again team up with Club Med and, with the addition of Olympic distance to Sprint distance racing, is further expanding the brand.

The new course begins at Club Med Sandpiper Bay with a swim in the St Lucie River, followed by a bike ride through the charming town of Port St Lucie and concluding with a scenic run through Club Med’s golf course. After the race, athletes can enjoy a post-race meal at Club Med’s main restaurant, The Marketplace.

“It is astonishing to see how the 2575 Triathlon brand has been growing since its inception,” said Wilber Anderson, CEO of Miami Tri Events.

He added, “We are very proud to be adding an Olympic distance to the brand and therefore expanding our territory within the triathlon society. This is just the beginning; we are excited to see where our business ventures with Club Med will take us.”

Club Med is seen as a pioneer in the hospitality industry and Club Med Sandpiper Bay has seamlessly combined the convenience of an all-inclusive family resort with highly renowned sports academies and wellness programs, making it a perfect destination for triathletes traveling with their families.
