Continuing Knut Jaeger’s vision at asia bike 2015

Asia Bike show 2014

“Never give up!” was the motto of Knut Jaeger, the organiser behind the asia bike show who suddenly died of a heart attack last week at the age of 72. In this spirit, the asia bike team in Nanjing, China, is continuing to develop and expand the show following the death of the tireless trade show organizer. The trade event for the Asia bike industry takes place on 9-12 October 2015.

“The personal loss of Knut Jaeger is weighing very heavily on us all,” admitted Stefan Reisinger, Divisional Manager at Messe Friedrichshafen, “But everyone will pull together to continue the life’s work of this trade show pioneer and bring it to fruition.”

This was also the message conveyed by the entire trade show team in Nanjing under the leadership of Project Director Richard Li. “Although we miss him very much, the strong and positive spirit that Knut Jaeger imbued his team with spurs us on today,” said the statement from Nanjing.

According to the organisers, Eurobike’s hallmark event in Asia will be even more apparent in Nanjing heading into the future. More and more western brands have discovered the potential of the asia bike event for their efforts to enter the Chinese market and are thus expanding their presence in Nanjing.

Eurobike, the world’s largest bicycle trade show, is bringing its expertise and network of contacts to bear for the asia bike event on 9-12 October.

According to the organisers, asia bike is establishing itself more as the hot spot for the premium and high-end bicycle segments. At the same time, for large Chinese brands, the trade show offers a gateway to the European market via the show’s connections with Eurobike.

A statement from the organisers concluded, ‘As part of a joint venture with Messe Friedrichshafen, Knut Jaeger impressively and very successfully developed Asian variants of the OutDoor and Eurobike trade shows at the exhibition center in Nanjing, winning over not only Chinese brands but also convincing many European and American outdoor and bike manufacturers of the importance of becoming engaged in China.’

The fifth edition of asia bike will take place from 9-12 October 2015. Demo Day will be held on 8 October 2015.
