Lapio - mobile dashboard

Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon, has confirmed that Lapio will be launching its new mobile and social sharing platform at the forthcoming Triathlon Business International Conference.

Taking place on 25-27 January 2015, the 5th Annual Triathlon Business International Conference in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles, California, features a number of speakers and topics; and the industry gathering will also feature a Lapio 5K – a friendly 5K race along the scenic Marina del Rey Marina on Monday 26 January.

Lapio software helps race directors and timers of races, from small to large, ‘provide awesome race experiences for participants and spectators.’ The company’s cloud-based, integrated solution combines race management, live streamed results, social engagement, photo sharing and mobile to create ‘the ultimate race experience from start to finish.’

Lapio’s new platform is built on the same trusted technology that has provided accurate, live results for over 900 races and 650,000 participants worldwide. According to the company, what makes this launch unique is the focus on mobile. Built for mobile first, the new Lapio platform addresses a growing need for an adaptable mobile solution.

Citing the Eventbrite Endurance Sports Participant Study, Lapio notes that endurance athlete mobile behaviours are broken down as follows:

  • 89% use mobile to manage email
  • 81% read endurance event information on mobile
  • 70% use mobile to post updates on social

Lapio feels it is leading the way in mobile and how race day information, results, live athlete tracking, and photos are shared.

“Race directors and timers thrive when participants and spectators have a race experience worth sharing. Understanding the industries needs and providing our customers the solution is what drives us,” said Klaus Preisler, Founder of Lapio.

“Companies like Lapio are driving innovation in this industry,” added Jack Caress, President & CEO, of Triathlon Business International. “Focused on developing solutions to respond to the constantly changing racing industry, we are looking forward to seeing more from Lapio at TBI and the year ahead.”

In partnership with Triathlon Business International, Lapio will debut its software at the Lapio hosted 5K race on Monday 26 January at 06:45 PT along the scenic Marina del Ray marina. Delegates and participants will get to see Lapio software in action and how the Lapio platform creates ‘an awesome race day experience’. All levels of runners are encouraged to enter, and registration is now open online.
