Motigo lends an ear to events with new Race Day Audio Tours

Less than nine months after the official release of its motivational race day iOS app, Motigo has launched its newest program for runners and races – Race Day Audio Tours. Following successful test events, the team at Motigo has crafted and recorded course-specific audio content for hundreds of top US races and is this week releasing the first 25 in its curated collection.

Now, runners in upcoming events, such as the Denver Rock ‘n’ Roll, The Baltimore Running Festival, and the Philadelphia Marathon among others, can run using the ‘fun, cheering features of Motigo and now be entertained and inspired by brief audio titbits highlighting unique attributes of the course, local history, and fun facts that serve as welcome mental breaks to keep them engaged and focused on getting to the finish line.’

Motigo was founded with a mission to provide runners with the ‘Emotional Fuel’ they need to achieve their goals. While providing personalized, powerful and connected experiences for runners, Motigo realized it could help races and the running ecosystem at large by creating new digital inventory and activation opportunities for races and sponsors.

Now races and sponsors can ‘create a more intimate relationship with runners, creating lasting audio memories that help reinforce brand affinity.’

“We’ve created great content but understand that there is an intimate knowledge possessed by those who own and operate events and live in the local communities,” said Motigo co-founder Celeste Lo.

“For those races embracing technology, we can provide a turnkey partnership program where they can further customize the content we’ve already developed and encourage participants to enhance the way they experience their race.”

She continued, “Races can utilize our proprietary platform to deliver their custom content in order to build deeper, and more personalized relationships with their running community.”

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the event, the Marine Corps Marathon has signed on as a partner for Motigo’s newly launched Audio Tour program. ogether, the companies have crafted content aimed at transforming the race day experience, recording unique, powerful and entertaining audio messages about the course and race, which runners will hear as they pass the landmarks of Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.

“Marine Corps Marathon participants are motivated by the national landmarks, huge crowds, Marines and now the content available through Motigo,” said Marc Goldman, MCM Sponsorship/Marketing Manager. “The App will both inform and inspire runners throughout the MCM course in ways that weren’t previously possible.”

“There are so many great race courses, cities and regions that runners are fortunate to experience. By working with iconic events such as the Marine Corps Marathon, we’re able to help thousands of runners have more enjoyable race days,” said Motigo co-founder, Dan Nagler. “Now, when runners visit the DC metro area for this race, they can learn and take in so much of the uniqueness and history that makes this race so very special.”

For the Marine Corps Marathon, runners will be able to select the Audio Tour with Motigo and hear over 10 pre-recorded messages sprinkled along the marathon course, all while using their favourite music app or fitness app. Plus, friends, family, donors and those supporting their runners can still record personalized messages of inspiration and motivation to cheer their runners on, as these messages will play alongside the Audio Tour content.

The app is free and available for iOS devices, and can be used in conjunction with the many other run tracking and music apps that runners currently enjoy. Runners of the Marine Corps Marathon can meet the Motigo co-founders and learn more about Motigo at the Expo Weekend and the Friday Night Pep Rally.
