One Step Beyond has confirmed Boardman Bikes as the new bike partner for its iconic Outlaw Triathlon and Outlaw Half. Boardman is rapidly establishing itself as a brand of choice amongst triathletes, and competitors will at both events this year have access to some unique deals.
The new partnership comes in time for the Outlaw Half in Nottingham, UK, next weekend (31 May). Top specification Boardman bikes are available to competitors and spectators at the event expo and through Langdale Lightweights bike shop, based locally in Nottingham.
The full distance Outlaw Triathlon takes place on Sunday 26 July.
Chris Boardman said “I first got involved with triathlon when we decided to sponsor two young lads from Yorkshire back in 2007. As they [Alistair and Jonny Brownlee] went on to conquer the triathlon world I’ve become fascinated by the sport and its multiple challenges.”
He continued, “I’m delighted to say that, in association with one of the best independent bike shops in the country, Langdale Lightweights, we’ve decided to get even more involved. To celebrate the fact, we’re offering some great and exclusive offers for those attending the Outlaw and Outlaw Half.”
Chris Boardman added his best wishes to all competitors, “Good luck to all brave enough to take on the challenge!”
Event director, Iain Hamilton, said “We’re really pleased to be working with Boardman Bikes. As well as the Brownlee Brothers, there are notable long distance athletes riding Boardman bikes, including, Lucy Gossage, and Kona winner, Pete Jacobs. We’re looking forward to seeing Lucy at the Outlaw again this year.
“We hope this is the start of a long term partnership. The Outlaw will feature on TV again this year, so the bikes are on show to a TV audience of hundreds of thousands as well as competitors and spectators. Next weekend’s Outlaw Half is part of a huge weekend in Nottingham where we have over 3000 competitors racing.”
The Outlaw Half takes place next Sunday 31 May with around 1400 competitors starting from 06.30 BST. This follows the Nottingham Sprint Triathlon on Saturday (30 May), which is a qualification event for the GB Age Group team for the ITU World Championships in Chicago, and the Emergency Services Championships.
Parking and spectating is free, and the event expo will feature brands including blueseventy, Zoot, High5, Raceskin and the award-winning TFN Triathlon Shop.
Boardman Bikes are supplied locally by Langdale Lightweights in Mapperley, Nottingham.
