UnitedHealthcare is teaming up with IRONKIDS for the first IRONKIDS Raleigh Fun Run where kids aged 3-15 will have the opportunity to race on the same course as the LexisNexis IRONMAN 70.3 Raleigh event presented by PNC Bank.
Taking place on Saturday 30 May in Raleigh, North Carolina, the 1-mile and 1/4 -mile fun run is for ‘triathletes to be’ and aims to help stem the rising tide of childhood obesity through exercise and healthy lifestyles. UnitedHealthcare mascot Dr Health E Hound will kick-off the event with a warm-up before the race.
Families and children in Raleigh and the surrounding areas are encouraged to participate. The cost for registration is US$15, and every child receives a T-shirt, race bib, goodie bag and finisher medal. Registration details are available at ironkids.com. UnitedHealthcare is providing 50 free admissions to the local Harris Creek Elementary to encourage more young people to participate.
