Places going fast for, ITU & ETU qualifier, the Oulton Park Spring Duathlon 2015

Start line at Oulton Park Spring Duathlon 2014 - sprint race

Event organiser Xtra Mile Events has announced that places for the popular Oulton Park Spring Duathlon are filling fast.

The Oulton Park Spring Duathlon 2015 takes place on Sunday 15 March at the famous motor racing circuit in Cheshire, UK, featuring both a sprint and a standard distance race aimed at athletes of all levels. This well-known duathlon offers many unique features including the mass start on the starting grid, transition in the pits and a traffic free race track.

The banked hairpin and the track’s super smooth tarmac ensures a fast and unique racing experience for all competitors, along with good spectating opportunities.

The Oulton Park Spring Duathlon has been selected as a qualifying race for both the 2015 ITU World Duathlon Championships and the 2016 ETU Standard Distance Duathlon European Championships. Triathlon England has also confirmed that the National Duathlon Championships will take place at the Oulton Park Autumn Duathlon on 4 October 2015.

The standard distance race incorporates an 8.6K run (2 laps) followed by a 38.8K cycle (9 laps) and a final run lap of 4.3K, totalling 51.7K. Sprint distance competitors start with a 4.3K run (1 lap), followed by a 21.6K cycle (5 laps) and a final run lap of 4.3K, covering a total distance of 30.2K. Lap counting technology is in place to ensure that all competitors complete the correct number of laps.

Entry costs are £44 for individual entries or £55 for team relay entries, and the start times are 10.00 GMT for the sprint race and 13:00 for the standard race. Registration to the Oulton Park Spring Duathlon is open and places are filling fast.

The race is open to athletes of all levels including elite, amateur and novice racers, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone on the starting grid in March.”

Xtra Mile Events also organises the ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K on 8 March 2015, which is positioned as a great event to kick start the season and use as training ground for all spring races. Places for the 10K and the half marathon are currently still available.

The Oulton Park Autumn Duathlon takes place on 4 October 2015, giving competitors who enter both the spring and the autumn duathlons an opportunity to measure their improvement over the season.
