Rudy Project, the Official Helmet of IRONMAN for North America, is celebrating its win as the ‘Most Worn Helmet at the IRONMAN World Championships presented by GoPRO’ for the fifth consecutive year.
As LAVA Magazine released its official product count numbers on Friday evening, announcing that Rudy Project was again the most popular helmet in Kona with 639 helmets, this was a significant 270 helmets over the nearest competitor Giro, and 382 over second closest competitor Specialized.
In a release, the company noted, ‘This marks the fifth year in a row that athletes racing the IRONMAN World Championships presented by GoPro have overwhelmingly placed their trust in Rudy Project helmets, a feat that has never been achieved in the helmet industry before.’
“This is a new defining moment for our company, as it’s simply unprecedented to have won this significant title for five years in a row,” said President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America, Paul Craig.
“Not only does 2015 mark the 30th anniversary of Rudy Project’s inception and the 80th birthday of its founder Rudy Barbazza, but it now signifies a monumental accomplishment as more athletes than ever have placed their trust in our technology. Our core ideology is to provide athletes with the absolute best helmets and sunglasses based directly on their feedback, and this fifth title is a testament to that end.”
The Rudy Project logo was displayed predominantly at Friday’s bike check-in, with celebrities such as Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, Rudy, The Goonies) and Katherine Kelly Lang (The Bold and the Beautiful) wearing their Rudy Project Wing57’s along with scores of other athletes.
Rudy Project’s latest Aero helmet, the Wing57, was reportedly a favourite on the field, but many were spotted in Rudy’s Wingspan Aero TT helmet, or one of the brand’s road bike helmets.
Designed and crafted in Italy since 1985, Rudy Project has grown quickly as a premier brand throughout North America. Rudy helmets were recognized as the number one most worn aero / time-trial brand at the IRONMAN World Championships Presented by GoPro in Kona, Hawaii for the last four consecutive years, and have been designated the Official Helmet of IRONMAN for North America. Rudy Project aims to offer ‘unparalleled customer service backed by a Lifetime Replacement Lens Guarantee and an industry-leading three-year frame warranty.’
