Science in Sport launches new SiS GO Electrolyte Gel

SiS GO Electrolyte Gel - raspberry

Science in Sport (SiS) has launched a new SiS GO Energy + Electrolyte Gel in Raspberry and Lemon & Mint flavours.

The popular SiS GO Energy gel range will have a new addition, offering both fast carbohydrate for energy and electrolytes to aid hydration. The new gel will sit alongside the existing isotonic energy and caffeine options to offer consumers choice for their energy and hydration needs on the move.

According to Science in Sport, the new SiS GO Energy + Electrolyte gel provides athletes with a versatile option to enhance their training and racing. ‘Electrolytes including sodium, potassium and magnesium are lost through sweat and need to be replaced in order to help the body maintain fluid balance, alongside an appropriate fluid intake.’

The SiS GO Energy + Electrolyte gel builds on the established science of the SiS GO Isotonic Energy gel, billed by SiS as the world’s first and only truly isotonic energy gel. The company adds that the gel not only delivers a rapid supply of easily digestible carbohydrates (22g) for energy, but also provides 118mg sodium, 9.5mg potassium and 1.5mg magnesium per gel.

Luke Heeney, New Product Director at Science in Sport said “We are passionate about innovation and are delighted to present our latest energy gel. We created the world’s first isotonic energy gel and we’re delighted to carry on this innovation with our new energy plus electrolyte gel.”

He continued, “Using our athlete feedback we know that there is a desire to deliver carbohydrates and electrolytes together in a convenient format. The new gel can be used alongside the SiS GO Isotonic Energy gels in addition to water to help cater for all nutritional needs during prolonged exercise.”

With an RRP of £1.50 each, SiS GO Energy + Electrolyte gel is now available to purchase from SiS distributors and the company’s retail partners.

The core SiS product ranges include: SiS GO, comprising energy powders, isotonic gels, energy bars and hydration tablets; and SiS REGO, including protein-based recovery powders and bars – with SiS Whey Protein added to the mix earlier this year.

SiS products are sold in a range of retail channels, including specialist sport retailers, major grocers, high street retailers and e-commerce websites.

SiS is currently the official sports nutrition supplier to professional cycling teams Rapha Condor JLT, Madison Genesis, Team Wiggins and Trek Factory Racing. SiS is also the official supplier of sports drinks and sports nutrition to the GB Rowing Team. In addition, Olympians Sir Chris Hoy MBE and Helen Jenkins are Elite Sports Consultants and brand ambassadors.

SiS was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Hatton Garden, London. Its manufacturing facility is in Nelson, Lancashire.

SiS shares are traded on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SIS.
