Universal Sports Network to air national coverage of 2015 ASICS LA Marathon

Universal Sports Network, a premier multi-platform media destination for Olympic, endurance and action sports programming in the United States, will air the 2015 ASICS LA Marathon next Sunday 14 March at 15:00 ET. The network’s national TV coverage will showcase the 26.2 mile race, which features 25,000 runners traversing the ‘Stadium to the Sea’ course from Dodger Stadium to the Pacific Ocean.

The 30th edition of the ASICS LA Marathon will also serve as the 2015 USA Track & Field Marathon Championships, and will feature a robust line-up of 61 American elites vying for a national title. Many of those Americans competing in the 2015 USATF Marathon Championships will gain experience in Los Angeles before returning to the city for the 2016 US Olympic Trials Marathon for the Rio Summer Games on 13 February 2016.

Highlighting the largest-ever men’s and women’s professional field in the history of the ASICS LA Marathon are husband and wife distance runners Ryan and Sara Hall. Ryan Hall, a two-time Olympian and American record holder in the marathon with a time of 2:04:58, last competed at the 2014 Boston Marathon, where he finished in 20th place. Sarah Hall was the 2012 US Cross Country Champion and will be making her marathon debut.

“We are thrilled to return as the official national broadcaster for the ASICS LA Marathon,” said Robert James, SVP, content and communications of Universal Sports Network. “With the US marathon championships on the line and a preview of next year’s Olympic trials, the 30th edition of the race offers compelling action for fans and those who compete in endurance sports.”
