HOY Vulpine rolls out SS16 range with new keirin inspired collection

HOY Vulpine has launched its new spring/summer 2016 road range, which includes a new Keirin-inspired Senko collection; introduced to cater for those looking for high-end performance cycling kit.

The Senko Collection, named after the Japanese term for a daring attack during a Keirin race, includes the HOY Vulpine Senko Jersey, HOY Vulpine Senko bib-short and HOY Vulpine Senko vest (women only).

‘Presented simply, without shouting its credentials,’ the Senko range is laser cut and constructed from quality, lightweight Italian fabric for a smooth aerodynamic race fit. The elite level aero bib shorts use the highest specification CyTech pad to ensure comfort for long days in the saddle and wide leg grippers to prevent the shorts from digging in and marking.

For those looking for more relaxed cycling gear, the HOY Vulpine Sportive range offers a ‘more forgiving, less race orientated fit’.

The HOY Vulpine Sportive Jersey is tailored for all day riding comfort. Paired with the HOY Vulpine Sportive Bib Short, built around a professional level CyTech pad, the team at Vulpine add that both should prove to be the perfect summer sportive and social ride combination. Also added to the range are HOY Vulpine Sportive Mitts, with soft but tough palms for long distance road riding.

Even at the height of summer, the British weather remains infamously changeable, which is where the Portixol Rain Jacket aims to come into its own. ‘Fully waterproof and yet extremely breathable’, with large unique dorsal vents down its side, it is billed as being light enough to wear in the summer.

Throughout all of the HOY Vulpine range, the technical aspects and sizing are tailored for each gender.

Sir Chris Hoy worked closely alongside Vulpine founder, Nick Hussey and the rest of the team to develop the range and test the products. Both he and Nick personally tested all garments through every phase of research and development, offering continual feedback.

“I have always wanted to create a clothing range that would suit any cyclist, whatever their shape or size, so it’s great that we can now offer a sportive range right through to a performance range with HOY Vulpine,” said Sir Chris Hoy.

Hoy continued: “Developing the Senko range has been a detailed but enjoyable collaborative effort with myself and the team at Vulpine and I’m really proud of what we have produced. The kit looks great and the technical capabilities of the kit far exceed the price point.”

Nick Hussey, Creative Director and Founder of Vulpine said “Chris and I are both from a racing background, obviously of somewhat varying levels, but we have a shared passion to create beautiful kit, with fantastic materials and technology, but simply presented.

“The word we’d use to describe our range is ‘classy’; we want each piece to make a more subtle style statement, yet completely nail the fit and function, with outstanding attention to detail. Comfort and performance moved on, quietly. The results make us hugely proud.”

Nick Hussey launched Vulpine in 2012. A cycling obsessive since he was a kid, when he started racing. Fascinated by British tailoring, Nick created a range of apparel that is aimed at being ‘comfortable whilst riding, and subtly stylish at your destination’. In 2015 he joined forces with track legend Sir Chris Hoy to launch HOY Vulpine performance apparel.
