Fresh from forming a partnership with OCR elites Ryan Atkins and Lindsay Webster, KitBrix has joined forces with UK Obstacle Course Racing Champion Conor Hancock.
“This is an incredible time for KitBrix and we are delighted to welcome Conor,” said KitBrix Director Robert Aldous. “We look forward to supporting his training, racing and other expeditions in 2016/17. Conor has proved himself to be a fantastic obstacle course racer and represents the future of OCR. He has also competed in trail running, sprint triathlon and many half marathons.
“As well as this, Conor has run training workshops sharing his knowledge and trying to help amateur racers improve upon their obstacle skills. He achieved 8th place at the 2014 OCR World Championships at the age of 21, but 2015 was an even better year. Placing 4th in the OCR World Championships, 10 seconds off of the podium and winning the OCR World Championship team race with Jon Albon and James Appleton.
“This was followed up one month later with Conor becoming the 2015 UK Champion. Conor’s hard work and determination were obviously major contributing factors to him coming away with first place this year in arguably the two toughest UK based races, Tough Guy, and the Winter Nuts Challenge, with a dominant display finishing around an hour ahead of his nearest challenger in the latter.”
Aldous continued, “It is destined to be a busy few months for Conor – with the final stretch of the Toughest race season, followed by the World Championships in Canada before defending his UK crown at Pippingford Park in November. It is an exciting period for our latest ambassador and we are really thrilled to be a part of his journey.”
“I am pleased to be in partnership with KitBrix,” said OCR Elite Conor Hancock. “Exciting times ahead, looking forward to being an ambassador for them, I’ll certainly be giving it my all in the Toughest series, and then at the OCRWC in Canada, and then defending my title at the UK Champs in November, hoping to have strong finishes for the rest of the season, before smashing 2017! I’m only 23 years old, loads more to give in this sport, still the unfinished article, so watch this space.”
