The new features first unveiled this spring with Trek’s Domane SLR are expanding to more platforms, with all-new Silque Women’s and three additional models of Domane now available. Trek’s IsoSpeed decoupling technology remains the cornerstone of the brand’s endurance road line-up and is now adjustable and expanded to the front of the bike on certain models of both platforms.
With IsoSpeed, Trek set out to provide the most comfortable performance road bikes on the market, and new models of Silque Women’s and Domane aim to deliver exactly that to an even wider group of riders.
For women looking to put in the long miles, the Silque Women’s family has been overhauled to offer a balance of comfort and power. Silque SLR is positioned as the ultimate in women’s endurance road technology, coupling Domane SLR’s features with a revitalized, women’s ride-tuned frame and new graphics.
Adjustable Rear IsoSpeed brings more versatility to ‘the smoothest ride on the road’, while the addition of Front IsoSpeed balances out the ride and provides a claimed 10% increase in front-end compliance over a traditional road bike. Direct mount brakes are also new, providing additional tyre clearance for those who want to explore off the pavement.
Silque S features the same updated women’s specific geometry as SLR, in addition to Rear IsoSpeed, and spec with Bontrager’s latest componentry. The OCLV Carbon, size-specific, ride-tuned frame on both models is ‘light and nimble, but calibrated for a long day in the saddle on the road or gravel.’
The Domane family is joined by Domane SL, S, and ALR, bringing a wide variety of spec levels to the Trek endurance road platform. Noted for its smooth ride, stable endurance geometry and tyre clearance, Domane is positioned as the bike of choice for riders looking to spend all day in the saddle. All models of Domane feature IsoSpeed and endurance geometry tuned to put in the long miles.
Domane SL, built with Trek’s proprietary OCLV Carbon, gains balance and versatility with the addition of Front IsoSpeed and lightweight Bontrager Speed Stop Direct Mount caliper brakes on rim-brake versions. The Front IsoSpeed decoupler allows the steerer tube to flex independently of the head tube on jarring roads, reducing fatigue without sacrificing efficiency or control.
The new braking system accepts up to a 28c tire with fenders, and increases stopping power without increasing weight.
Domane S carries forward the platform’s race compliance and performance advantages with rear IsoSpeed, all-new colours and graphics, and an OCLV Carbon frame.
According to Trek, the all-new Domane ALR redefines the quality of an aluminium ride. Domane ALR features rear IsoSpeed Technology, direct mount brakes, and the same Invisible Weld Technology first introduced on the Trek Émonda ALR. This welding technology ‘offers a better connection at each tube junction, increasing strength while reducing weight through the use of less welding material.’
Trek adds that its wide range of endurance road bikes for men and women are built for more — more miles, more speed, more comfort and more exploration. New models of Silque and Domane will be available for purchase immediately.
