Premier Event Management (PEM) has announced, for the first time ever, that an elite field of professional athletes are set to compete in the 2017 Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon in Wisconsin, taking place on Saturday 23 September 2017.
The pros will join more than 1,000 age group triathletes young for this annual race, which is part of the Escape Triathlon Series. New this year, the Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon will serve as a qualifying race for the 2018 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. The top three Olympic finishers per age group will receive coveted entry slots into the iconic San Francisco race. First place finishers in each age group will also win a complimentary race entry.
Hot off their wins last weekend in Washington D.C., 2017 Nation’s Triathlon Champions Jason West and Sarah Haskins will lead a field of 30 professional triathletes competing for a US$20,000 prize purse.
“I feel great going into the Lake Geneva Escape Triathlon, my fourth race in the Escape Triathlon Series,” said 2017 Nation’s Triathlon Winner Jason West. “Coming off a first place finish last weekend at Nation’s Triathlon, I’m hoping to carry that momentum with me to Wisconsin.”
