In collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thailand Tri-League – IRONMAN has announced the launch of the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand. Taking place on the weekend of 3-4 February 2018, runners of all abilities will be able to choose from four different race distances: Marathon (42.195km), Half-Marathon (21.1km), Bangkok Bank 10km and a Family Fun Run (4km).
IRONMAN adds that the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota ‘will be much more than just a race’, starting with a Sports and Lifestyle Expo at Bangkok Airport Rail Link where runners and visitors can enjoy many activities and exclusive promotions from 1-3 February.
Among the activities, the Family Fun Run is positioned as ‘the perfect opportunity for runners to share the road with their little ones on a 4km route packed with entertainment’ around the Airport Rail Link on Saturday 3 February. The following day on Sunday 4 February, marathon runners will start their race at 02:30 from Rajamangala Stadium – home stadium of the Thailand National Football team – while half-marathon and 10km participants will begin their day near the Democracy Monument at 05:00 and 06:00, respectively.

Our expertise in international sports events combined with the local experience of Thailand Tri-League and the support of Tourism Authority of Thailand will allow us to deliver a great race on February 4.”
Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok runners will enjoy a unique city-centric course that will take them past some of Bangkok’s landmarks such as the Victory Monument, King Rama V Monument, and Rama VIII Bridge before heading to the finish line at the Democracy Monument. The organisers have worked with local authorities with the aim of offering runners an exceptional race experience – an early morning race start for cooler conditions and full road closures for a safe run. Runners will also be encouraged all along the route by entertainment performances.

Approximately 30,000 runners from all around the world are expected to join the first edition of the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok presented by Toyota. IRONMAN, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thailand Tri-League have committed to a five-year agreement to make Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok a sustainable internationally recognized running event.
