KitBrix and Ed Clancy have announced a four-year partnership to focus on product development and innovation. The new working arrangement starts with the development and launch of the KitBrix CityBrix v2.
KitBrix has been working alongside pro cycling team JLT Condor for the past 12 months and from its work in cycling identified team athlete Ed Clancy as ‘the man to support growth and development of products for all types of athletes from recreational to elite.’
KitBrix Founder Robert Aldous explained “Ed is not only one of the most successful British Olympic athletes of our generation, he is approachable, strong, dependable, diverse in his sporting interests, and has a wicked sense of humour. He represents all that we are as a brand regardless of sporting profession.
“Ed is a rock within British Cycling and has the pedigree to support our progress. He has come back from adversity in his career to reach the very highest heights, and this next part of his career is arguably the most interesting. We hope that we can develop products, with and alongside him, while also supporting his charge for further success on the road and track.”
For the past four years, the team at KitBrix has been making robust, innovative, water-repellent bags for cyclists, triathletes, obstacle racers and active families. The company supplies kit to professional cycle teams such as JLT Condor, Team Raleigh and Neon Velo and is an official supplier to British Triathlon to support its athletes with luggage and transition solutions up to and beyond 2020.

Designed in collaboration with JLT Condor pro cyclist Ed Clancy, and building on the features in the original CityBrix, the new KitBrix CityBrix v2 bag will launch on Kickstarter on 1 November. The CityBrix v2 is designed ‘for the active person who packs efficiently and with purpose’. It has an RRP of £129.99, with Kickstarter prices from £99.99.
Entering the marketplace in 2014, and a BikeBiz 2017 award winner (Best Product Innovation by a Newcomer), KitBrix, has developed a unique offering to support athletes in their training regime and on race day. From its origins within the triathlon category, the modular concept of the bags is now becoming widely used by teams across a variety of sports to support their complex logistical needs – with an emphasis on saving athletes time, energy and stress in order to focus this energy on competition and race day.
Much of the KitBrix inspiration is taken from military kit design principles – hard wearing, practical and built to last. As the company adds… ‘Spend less time searching for kit & equipment and more time doing the sport you love. No fuss, just organised kit #keepittogether.’
